Every day, more people realize that origami is much more than just a childhood hobby of making cute paper figures with 10-15 folds, as well as being immeasurably more than an integral attribute of various Japanese ceremonies that are still taught in schools and extracurricular activities. Over the past 20 years, thanks to the latest scientific achievements and the involvement of artists, sculptors, and specialists from other fields of knowledge, origami has become a full-fledged and unique art form, occupying a completely exceptional place at the turn of the millennium.
The ideas for Origami.expert emerged back in the 2000s when the first international origami olympiads - IOIO - were launched. As a result of meticulous work and efforts, this resource was developed. It includes three main modules: blogs, a forum and olympiad. In addition, elements of a social network have been integrated: user subscriptions, a news feed, a publication wall, messaging, and more. In general, everything necessary for preserving and developing the knowledge acquired by masters throughout the existence of this unique art.
Currently, active work on the site is ongoing: we are testing functionality, fixing identified bugs, working on the visual design of pages, adapting for mobile devices, and much more. You can learn more about the site and future plans in the article available at this link.
